I need info on the triumvirate.

I need information on the Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger/UPnP triumvirate.

I posted last week trying to get to the bottom of a problem using Remote
Assistance in a corporate environment. I've since noticed that MSN
Messenger is reporting that "You are connected to the Internet through a
non-UPnP port restricted NAT. (Administrator)" I think I recall seeing a
post here that referenced the RA requirement of Windows Messenger or UPnP
(or both).

I really need to know how these three are tied together and more
importantly, why this built-in RA doesn't work.
