I'm having the exact same problem with Windows Messenger. I recently put XP
Pro on my machine and downloaded both MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger so
that I could do a remote assistance with a friend. I have tried several times
to download the updates to Windows Messenger. I also downloaded the service
pack from Microsoft and it didn't help. I'm uninstalled Windows Messenger and
reinstalled it twice. Nothing has worked.
