Re: messenger shows me online

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Thanks Jonathan.
That's what happened. Someone sent me a message and messenger wasn't in my
systray. It blew me away. It was Outlook Express that was loading me
automatically, even though it was instructed not to, as I had the option to
log off, which blew me away. I can't believe it doesn't show up as running
when this happens. I believe I've fixed it. Alternatively, which I might
do is set it up to show me as being offline when I login. I'm not crazy
about doing this, but I don't want to be mistaken as being online when I'm
busy with other stuff.

Thanks for your response. It's always appreciated.

By the way Jonothan, do you know a way to turn messenger off when it "won't"
go off. It's been a persistant problem ... was there before and now again
after the format. When nothing else is running, there are times when it
still won't close. How stubborn can it be! I installed a registry fix for
this some time ago, but even it wouldn't allow me to close it. I still have
to use Windows Task Manager to end it, which is annoying to say the least.
I was hoping MS would have remedied this by now. I'd appreciate your
thoughts on this, if you or someone else has a remedy for it. Thanks.
Diana
