Need magnifying glass to play solitaire

I'm beginner. My new laptop has XP Professional. Solitaire, and all other
applications are very small. If I change screen resolution, things don't fit
on screen and areas to click on with the mouse move away from the screen
image where I am supposed to click.

How do I get things so a senior can read them?
