I am using MSN Messenger for video (webcam) and audio
communications. The cameras will connect, but will
periodically freeze and then close. In any event, the
video is very choppy, about 0.5 - 1 fps. Audio purports to
connect, but no audio is received by either participant.
Everything worked fine (and video quality was much better)
prior to the installation of SP2.
I have a Linksys WRT54G router configured for UPNP and an
XP Pro client with the newest version of MSN Messenger.
Since then I have read everything that I can find on the
net and have done the following:
1. I have tried setting the PC as DMZ on the router.
2. I have removed QoS from the network connection.
3. I have configured Upnp in XP
4. On Microsoft's KB, I had read an article that
acknowledged an issue with Messenger and UPNP once SP2 was
installed, which (as I recall) indicated that MSNMSGR
should be unchecked in the UPNP settings until the issue is
resolved, but now I cannot find that article anywhere on
the KB. I have tried unchecking them as well.
Any thoughts?
