Not sure if this will help but I had to change my
security settings in IE Options under advanced tab. Reset
to defaults and ticked the 'Use TLS 1.0'. I also manually
downlaoded as many updates as I could but it was after
adding TLS that messenger finally worked. Nothing I had
found on the net worked to fix this sort of signin
problem with messenger. Good luck
