Can't sign back in

I'm having problems with getting kicked off the internet and when I go to
reconnect, it says that I'm already signed in. So when I try to proceed, it
won't let me. It just keeps going between telling me I'm signed off and then
I'm not. I noticed that I have a msn messenger and a windows messenger.
Does that have anything to do with it? I'm new to all of this.
