I have 2 PC's: PC1 running Windows XP Professional and Office XP
Professional; PC2 running Windows XP Home and Office 2000 OEM. I am using
Outlook for email. I have 4 users setup on each PC with same name and
passwords and use a 56k dial up modem to connect to Internet thru ICS
installed on PC1--the Pro machine. I have MSN Messenger installed on both
PC's.

MSN Messenger logs in automatically and dials the Internet as soon as I
startup PC2 (client). I did not select the autosign in option on Internet
Explorer on either PC, but I did select the remember my password option. So
when MSN Messenger first signs in, I click on sign in on Internet Explorer
to sign into passport.

When I sign out, do I just sign out of Messenger and then close Internet
Explorer or do I sign out of Internet Explorer, then sign out of Messenger
and then close both? Also, since I do have other users setup on this PC,
what is the proper way to setup MSN Messenger so I can switch users and sign
in with another user?

If someone could please tell me how I should set up Messenger and Internet
Explorer for multiple users on multiple PCs I would really appreciate it.
When trying to sign out now, I sometimes get a message that the memory at a
certain address cannot be read. It seems that I do not have something in
Messenger setup correctly.

I have already stopped Windows Messenger from starting automatically or
running in background. I have Outlook setup to read newsgroups so I was not
sure if I need to uncheck the box in Outlook Express to stop Windows
Messenger from starting automatically or not.

I have finally got ICS working properly and I do not want to screw things up
by not having MSN Messenger setup correctly.

Also, I was not sure if I need to uncheck the box in Outlook XP that allows
Messenger integration since I am not using a MSN email account. I use a
Pop3 email account for local ISP and hotmail account to sign in to MSN
Messenger. Outlook 2000 on the client PC does not include the same checkbox
to allow Messenger integration so I don't know what to do here to insure
compatibility between the 2 different versions on 2 different PC's.

I am not trying to share any contacts or anything in Outlook at this point
and do not use Exchange, although I did setup Outlook 2000 in Corp/workgroup
mode on the client PC.

Last thing. When I go to switch users on the host PC do I need to
completely shut down the client first, or can I just log off client, then
host and then sign in host and then client without loosing my ICS
connection--since host PC must be started first?
