I'm running XP Home with SP2 upgrade. I hook up thru a cable
modem and my friend has XP Pro thru a small wireless network on DSL.
We both run Windows messenger 4.7.3000 which came with the SP2
upgrade.
The Chat, video, and white board all work fine but we can't send or
receive files. All this worked fine in Ver 4.7.2009 prior to the SP2
upgrade.
Jonathan, you mentioned in prior posts that upgrading to MSN
Mess is a solution or opening all the ports which I already have. You
also said this.......
"Also note that the Service Pack 2 release of Windows XP, due out in
final version soon, allows you to simply allow all traffic from
Messenger, therefore making this incredibly simpler." This I don't
understand.
What I'm looking for is a way to keep windows Messenger
4.7.3000, open up what ever port I need to send and receive files.
Thanks in advance.
