MSNŽ Messenger Update for Windows Mobile-based Devices
Microsoft has updated the MSN Messenger Service to ensure that our customers
have the latest security and privacy protections. This change requires
Windows Mobile-based device users to use updated MSN Messenger software in
order to connect to the Service as of October 15, 2003.

Windows Mobile-devices that require the update will show the following error
message upon attempted logon to the MSN Messenger Service:

"Logon to the Messenger Service failed because the service is not compatible
with this version of the program."
Retry | Cancel

Customers who see this message should select "cancel" and follow the
information below to learn about the availability of an update for their
specific Windows Mobile-based device.

Customers using Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and Pocket PC Phone Editions
(2002 and 2003) should download the updated MSN Messenger software now by
following the Pocket PC link below. Customers without updated MSN Messenger
software will not have access to the Service until the download has been
completed.

Customers using Windows Mobile-based Smartphones (2002 and 2003) should
follow the Smartphone link below to learn about the availability of MSN
Messenger software updates for specific Smartphone models.
