Disabling Windows Messenger

Hi

Anybody have this problem too? I use MSN messenger... and
hence removed Windows Messenger from my PC. However, even
though it is not installed, whenever I connect to the
net, Windows Messenger connects and I receive messages
via this and not MSN. No icon appears in my system tray
so I cannot disable it... the only way to get back to MSN
is to log on to it - I get the usual notification in
Windows Messenger that I have been logged in on a
different computer and from there all is ok.

Can anybody tell me how to remove Windows Messenger
completely? I used Control Panel - Add remove programs -
Add remove windows components to remove it.

Thanks!
