Hello again,
Do these ports(for audio converstion) have some kind of
set values so that I could open them myself? I am kind of
happy with the ICF so far. If there is any set value for
the ports for audio converstion in that msn messenger sets
using my administrator previleges, then maybe it is better
to open only those ports and leave them open, but not all
the others. Any one has any idea what are those ports?
Thank you,
Jai
PS: thank you Kay

Greetings Jai,
You're seeing this because you have the Internet
Connection Firewall (ICF) engaged in Windows
XP. Messenger will automatically open the necessary ports
for audio conversations in the ICF
but only allows users that are set as Administrators to do
so. As such, with the firewall
engaged, only administrators are able to do voice
conversations.
To turn off the firewall, firstly make sure that you're up-
to-date with your WindowsUpdates
(http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com), then click Start,
then All Programs, then Accessories,
then Communications, and then Network Connections. Right
click your network/internet
connection, then click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab,
and verify that the Internet
Connection Firewall is unchecked.
