can messenger be used to connect to a gatekeeper like the netmeeting?

Hi,

I don't know if it is possible to connect Windows Messenger to a gatekeeper (for Videocalls) somewhat like Netmeeting. I would very much appreciate a pointer or two in the direction I should be looking to find out the answer.
