Hi Simon,
To correct this problem, close all Messenger's currently running (including MSN Messenger
6.x) by right-clicking on their icons in the notification area/system tray and choosing Exit.
Then click Start, then Run, type "%windir%\winsxs" and click OK.
Right-click the "x86_Microsoft.Windows.Networking.RtcDll_6595b64144ccf1df_5.2.2.1" folder
(the name will be longer, the key parts are rtcdll and 5.2.2.1) and Delete it. Then try
installing Windows Messenger 5 again.
