Hi Blaine,
Recently I purchased a Logitech USB Headset.
Logitech did not supply any software. I installed the headset by connecting
it to an USB port and Windows XP found and installed the new hardware. This
Headset works well with Windows Messenger.

: I have a Plantronics USB headset and every time I want to initialize a
coversation on Messenger, I have to re-run the Wizard. The software that
Plantronics has available does not provide proper switching between
speakers/mic and headset with Windows XP and users must switch devices in
the control panel to get a proper usage. Even so, Messenger still handles
the use of this USB headset poorly. When a request is sent or received, to
start a voice or video conversation, the headset will not operate . You must
run thw wizrd and then request again or have the other party request again.
:
: Ideally, I would like to find a fix in Messenger. Alternatively, I would
like to find better management software for the USB headset and if that is
not possible, I would be interested in a new USB headset that is operable
with Messenger.
:
: Non-USB headsets seem to require manually plugging where-as USB could
remain plugged but be switched between headset and system sound.
:
: Thanks to anyone who has suggestions!
