windows messenger video

Please help with ideas: using msn messenger, my son in
Japan(student) and I in NY can get dual video working,
but no AUDIO. With Windows messenger, we get dual
AUDIO working, but video only one way...(can't see Japan
cam)...any thoughts? Both using logitech cams and Win
XP, newest version of messenger services.
