Should I edit the registry and delete the class ID?

Here are four things to try:
1. Open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, locate the Ask Toolbar, and
remove.
2. Open Internet Properties, Programs tab, click the "Manage Add-Ons"
button and disable any Ask toolbars.
3. Open IE, click Tools, Manage Add-Ons, and do the same thing.
4. Install Winpatrol, double-click Scotty (in the Notification area),
click the "IE Helpers" tab, click the Ask Toolbar, click "Remove" at the
bottom of the screen.
