I posted this a few days ago but only the title got listed so in more
detail.
We have updated our Sage software to version15 and there is a problem
on just one computer. The software wont install and SAGE help say they
cant help as it is a op system error. The file msxml3.dll will not
register and without this Sage will not run.
When i try the regsvr32 to try and register i get the error message
0x8007005
I have spent at least a day going through the various forums and trying
various fixes but they have not worked.
I have checked the permissions and they are fine.
I have done the windows genuine advantage check and it is fine.
I have done all the reboots after these and again tried to register the
msxml3.dll without success.
I have ascertained on the Windows website that the problem has occured
because the registration process was changed in service pack 7. The
download on the windows site to fix this is not there!!
I have contacted miocrosoft and got no answer so I dont know if any
kind person on this forum can get me out of this bind.
I am running windows xp pro
Many thanks in advance.

Hi "paulmben",
Is the problem computer full patched with XP Service Pack 3 and all security
updates from Windows Update?
Windows Update
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx
What version of Internet Explorer?
0x8007005 is an Access Denied error. Are you logged on with a user account
with administrative privileges?
What does "service pack 7" above refer to?
Windows XP SP3 includes MSXML 3.0 SP9.
Windows Vista includes MSXML 3.0 SP10.
I'm running XP pro SP3, but have SP10--
File Version: 8.100.1048.0
Description: MSXML 3.0 SP10
Size: 1.05 MB (1,106,944 bytes)
It does not have an OleSelfRegister value.
Explanation of Regsvr32 usage and error messages

Possible reasons for OLE control registration failure

HTH. (Hope This Helps. :)
