I suspect that only the registry entries for the malware were deleted by
doing the system restore and that your PC may still be loaded with infected
files. I suggest that you do full scans with an up to date anti virus
program and a malware program such as:
Anti-Malware 1.34, which is a good, free program, can be downloaded from
here:

I was able to fix the problem by overwriting the userinit.exe file,
Which turned out to be the problem. I copied the file from my Dell XP
disk. It got my Compaq up and running.
Then I was overwhelmed with viruses on the computer.It was running
like molasses and freezing up. I was finally able to get to a restore
point from last month which cleared up the problem.
