So basically it goes like this:

I got a bunch of viruses on my Alienware laptop. After a
successful virus scan from AVG, I was told to reboot my computer
and I did just that. When the computer rebooted, I was unable to
get on to my desktop because it automatically logged me out
seconds after I entered my password....

So I try pretty much tried every suggestion I found on the
internet including...

Using safe mode/safe mode with command prompt... same login loop.
I tried the other opinion in f8 about starting from the last point
it worked best... nothing. I tried the XP disk and did a
repair... same loop. Finally I tried the Recover counsel and did
that copy userinet.exe wsaupdater.exe thing... Guess what? STILL
CAN'T LOG IN! Is there any other practical solution I have not
yet tried that isn't reinstalling XP and losing my data? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

If Pa Bear's suggestion doesn't work, boot from a free Live Linux CD
such as Knoppix and then back up your system either to a USB drive or
over the network -- after which you can re-install Windows.
