as long as you don't have
an issue with wiping away
the personal data files
because they are expendable
or you have a copy/back up
of them;
then reinstalling the operating
system is a very good idea
when the corruption of
the o.s. is too complex
to resolve.
most manufacturers do
provide a method to
restore the system back
to it factory settings.
but you would have to
look up this feature at
the machines home site.
if all else fails, then there
is the option to simply buy
a retail version of the o.s.
-------
have you tried a system
restore point?
if not, then you might simply
want to first uninstall all your
anti virals, spywares and
any third party firewalls first.

Hello,
My girlfriends' computer has been running very slow latley so I
recommended reinstaling the operating system. She doesn't know where her
disks are however, so I figured we could just set it back to factory
settings (which I did with my Vista system). I tried to a find a "How
to..." online but could not so I was wondering if anyone know how.
thanks,
-Ekia
