The version of userinit.exe file has to match the service pack version installed on your computer. Download my new userinit fix from here http://pcbutts1.com/downloads/tools/tools.htm this file works for SP2 and SP3 only. READ the enclosed instructions. If you have SP1 do not use this file. If you need any other version then email me using the link at the bottom of my webpage. Your issue is caused by a malware infestation. Once fixed you will need to use my Remove-it software, it will remove that malware from your system. Choose yes for all options when prompted. Download it here http://pcbutts1.com/downloads/tools/tools.htm

Hello all,
Ran into a Valentines day killer - been working on this all day and
wife is about to leave my sorry ***. I really could use some help. I
consider myself to be somewhat savey and have never had a problem that I
couldnt eventually solve - hope that record will remain but its not
lookin good right now.
So - Windows Defender performed a scan last night and this morning had
a pop up box saying it needed to reboot to perform changes. Without even
thinking (since it is a windows product) I allowed the reboot and since
then, I cannot login under any account - including administrator. My pc
logs in, immediately followed by the log off.
I have attempted numerous corrections including the steps noted online
via the BART-PE tool. as it stands right now, my USERINIT.exe file is
properly coded in the registry....to include the comma. I have performed
the copy userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe step and while it finds 1 copy and
replaces, it keeps friggin coming back.
I am desperately trying to avoid having to reinstall windows as I have
a few items that I havent backed up...shame on me I know. I have a Sony
Vaio that came with prepackaged software - hence no XP disk. I do have a
spare XP disk that I used to build the Iso disk from the PE builder work
around....nothing is working.
Most of the work arounds I have seen are somewhat aging and I was
wondering if anyone has any recent updates. Please help!
thanks in advance!
