Re: XP 'Favorites' folder has a problem

Hi David F. Sage,

Could you export the following registry keys to your desktop for
examination?

Use the following command to export the key to your desktop:

reg export HKCR\InternetShortcut
"%userprofile%\desktop\InternetShortcut.txt"

Could you email "InternetShortcut.txt" to wcrawford AT mvps DOT org or
simply paste the contents of the file to this thread.

Also, does this problem occur if you have a Internet Shortcut icon your
desktop?

Hi William, I appreciate your help.

I ran the Command, followed by a cold reboot.

Unfortunatly, the problem persists and I would welcome your continued
assistance.

For this, thank you.

Regards David.

My XP 'Favorites' folder has a problem, when I click on a
Favourite Link to a Website it opens my Print-Window, as do any
auto-links not in my 'Favorites' folder.

Hi David F. Sage,

Please run the following command in a Command Window (Start >
Programs >>Accessories > Command Prompt)

reg delete HKCR\InternetShortcut\shell /ve

You may need to reboot your computer for the changes to apply. Good
Luck.
