Yes at this point I agree with you. Now that my keyboard is working.
However when I put the XP OS in my CD Rom and turn on the computer I get a
black screen:
Press any key to boot from CD............
NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

When restart I get the same message. Thank you for you time and reply...

It's not entirely clear (at least to me) your situation. You've

this problem began when (somehow) you formatted the HDD in your desktop
machine (the one with the problem you're describing). I assume this is

was!) the HDD that contained the XP OS, wasn't it? Or is there another

So we're dealing with an empty HDD that once contained the OS. Is that

situation?

If so, obviously the *only* solution is to install the XP OS onto that
HDD
(assuming there are no other hardware-type problems involved here). But
you say you do not have an XP OS installation CD. So how were you
proposing to install the OS onto that HDD even assuming you could
access
the disk?

But I may be misunderstanding your problem...

I would guess that if you keep tapping the Delete key just as the
machine
begins its boot process you can access the motherboard's BIOS. But I
don't
know what value that would be if we're dealing here with a blank HDD
and
no OS. But again, perhaps I misunderstand your situation.

Yes, correct, the blank desktop HDD used to have my XP OS on it. I do own
a
XP OS CD.
I am thinking of hooking the blank HDD to my laptop, and uploaded a boot
disk straight to the blank HDD. Or puting a blank CD in my laptop and
create
a boot CD from my laptop to use in my desktop CD ROM. Thank you for your

this one more try...

Is there any reason why you simply can't install the XP OS onto your "blank"
HDD using the XP OS installation CD? What is stopping you from simply doing
that?

Why are you considering using your laptop in this process? What has the
laptop got to do with installing the XP OS onto your desktop machine? Am I
missing something here?
