i think so, since winxp
is still on the market:

here are some examples:

however, in buying
a copy of windows,
you would be buying
another license.

so if your computer has
windows on it, then
you should figure out
where its copy came
from.

also might want to look
around on the machine
and see if you find a
sticker with a product
key.

I think that would be helpful but unfortunately I do not have a CD.. I'll try
asking around from my friends and see if they have one. btw, I was just
wondering, is there still a windows xp cd in stores?

i don't think the fan
sound is relevant other
than proving it is functional.

what you might try is
to boot with the winxp
cd and access the repair/
recovery console.

then run some commands
at the disk prompt>:

chkdsk
fixboot
bootcfg /rebuild
fixmbr

then exit and
retry to boot w/o
the cd.

Hi, I was just doin' my stuff on the computer when suddenly it restarted but
when it did before reaching/showing the logon screen it restarts and this
went on over and over again. So, I opened up my pc and tried to clear out
some dust then plugged/unplugged the cables. I dont know if I was doin' the
right thing but I was just hoping it would fix my problem. So now, after
doin' the task I turned on the computer again and a new problem came up. It
seems like the fan just keeps spinning loudly but the pc wont boot and just
shows a blank screen. but somehow it boots when I press any key
in the keyboard but after booting I cant seem to use the keyboard and like I
said in the first prob before getting to the logon screen it keeps rebooting
over and over again. Please if anyone has any idea how to fix this please let
me know. Thanks in advance. :)

BTW, sorry for the long explaination.. xD
