How do you add the Volume Control on Add or Remove Programs, please?

Thanks in advance!

You don't, AFAIK. If you have audio hardware and the correct driver, there will be a volume slider in

Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices

That dialog box has a "Place volume icon in the taskbar" option, if that's what you're after.

FYI, I run XP on a Dell laptop, Latitude D820 with 4 GB of Ram.
Windows Audio services is auto, installed the correct sound driver more than 10 times, expanded the sound file using the XP CD, you name it ....

The "Place volume icon in the taskbar" box is checked, but there is no volume icon in the system tray.

The video training files can play with a sound and I can use the volume control that comes with the program, which confirms that the hardware (the sound card) is working properly.

However, I cannot control the volume with the laptop buttons. I am sure that if the Volume Control is in Add or Remove Programs, which is missing at the moment, the problem should be fixed.

Thanks

If Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices | "Place volume icon in the taskbar" box is checked, then you will need to look elsewhere for a solution to this problem. For some unknown reason, icons sometimes disappear from the taskbar.

As a first step, place your cursor over a blank space in the taskbar and right click. Then, select Properties, followed by Customize. This should produce a list of all icons in the notification area.

Review the list. Select "Volume". If it is in the list, change the setting to "Always Show".

If "Volume" is missing from the list of icons in the notification area, pay a visit to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm. Download and run the "Remove Past Items" script. This will reset the taskbar. Hopefully, the volume icon will return.
