Re: Fonts folder gone crazy, Help please

If you use the mouse to open the Control Panel and "Regional Settings", you may be able to change your settings for the type of Keyboard layout you use. I would guess you are set to 'Devorac' rather than 'Querty'.

Hello to anyone who can help.
I am writing this from a friend computer because my own reliable XPPRO-SP3 locked me out and will not accept my typing.

Everything else work fine for the last five years but now my windows write other words then the ones I keyboard.

I type M it return R, I type H it gives me P and so on... As a result I can't write anything from my machine.

It is the same in a WORD page, and in NOTEBOOK as well, and in OUTLOOK EXPRESS mail page, and even if I create another item and want to rename it , it still types other letters then what I input.

I am a bible teacher so I use my machine also for "Complex script" ( right to left languages) and it was execellent for the last five years. It all happened when I tried to select a new font from the menu available in WORD and all hell broke loose.

Several repairmen couldn't fix it even though window is active in full and all programs are alive. Even all the icons with previous names are there intact BUT I CAN'T CHANGE ANY NAME ON THEM,

I had the provision of "complex script" completely removed from the computer so the machine will completely forget the reverse direction setting but it didn't help.

I have the program TWEAKUI-XP where there is a provision for fixing the font folder but the "APPLY" provision on the TWEKUI page is greyed out.

I have the excellent program *400 fixes* by Doug Knox and Kelly theriot from where I downloaded fix # 246 to fix the greyed out "APPLY" in TweakUI but it remained greyed out. This fix is my last hope and I don't know if the *400 Fixes* has anything else on my topic.

So If there is a good samaritan out there in the person of an MVP , I hope he/she or they try to help me because the next step is to format the entire machine and the loss is simply too great to bear.

Many many thanks and God bless

Janet
