Still keeping your version of Windows a secret.
This method works with XP: Create a shortcut on your desktop with the following target path:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
Can't help you with Vista.
Use the Manage Add-ons tool to determine which add-on is causing the problem:
1- Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons.
2- In the Show box, select 'Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer' to display all add-ons that are installed on the computer. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click Disable under Settings. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK.
3- Exit and then restart Internet Explorer 7. Go to Tools > point to Manage Add-ons > click Enable or Disable Add-ons. Now enable a single add-on, then exit and restart Internet Explorer 7 to see if it works properly. Repeat until you determine which add-on causes the problem to occur.
Once you've located the troublemaking add-on(s) ask the vendor's technical support for help.

I need some help please..
I posted the following on IE General and got this reply from Leonard. I then replied to him with a question but I can't get him to respond.
Is there anyone there that can tell me how to "Start IE with no add-ons.........." and can tell me how to add back an add-on?
Thank you,

I can't guess what version of Windows you have and so cannot provide
specific instructions. The idea is to start Internet Explorer with no
add-ons to see if that resolves the problem. If the problem is resolved,
one of the add-ons was causing it. Then you re-enable each add-on one at
a time until you discover the offending add-on.

detect.
I do a Ctl/Alt/Del and an end task and it will sometimes come back up when I
click it.
At other times it won't.
I can do a re-start and it will function correctly for awhile.
I can't state it for a fact but it seems to happen if Outlook Express is
open - but not all the time.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Doug
