Ron, I would take it back to the Repair Shop. It seems they didn't do a
thorough job of getting your system running properly.
Here is information on Amd and SP3

I recently installed SP3 and had problems with it. System would start to
boot and then got a chkdsk file not found and system would then try to
reboot and go into a loop. Tried to boot into safe mode and could not get
in. Tried the XP cd boot and could not get in.
Took the machine to a repair shop and they ended up rolling the system
back to SP2. My processor is an AMD. I am hearing that there is a
problem with the SP3 and AMD processors. Is that true????
Proceeding with the problems.
Computer seemed to work OK except that I could not start Outlook Express.
Got a MSOERES.DLL could not be found. Outlook
Express may not be installed properly. Error message.
There was a fix on the net that I down loaded but when I clicked on the
program to run it --- nothing happened.
Then went and downloaded SP2 and was going to do a reinstall that and that
will not run.
Can anyone help me on why these will not run???
.
