Re: Automatic MS Updates won't install

thank you all -- I have tried going to the MS website and running a update
scan ... I had not downloaded some b/c they were titled as being programs I
did not download in the package -- I've reversed that. I think maybe the
problem is that I didn't download that #3 UPDATE ...can't remember the title
but it seemed at the time to be giving everyone fits. :-(

I don't need any fits.

Try my Svchosts Fix tool. Download it here
http://pcbutts1.com/downloads/tools/tools.htm that should fix it but if it
does not then use Microsoft's® Automatic Update Repair Tool from the same
page.

Cyberstalking is a crime. If you had one as bad as I did simply ignoring
them is not an option.

My system has attempted to install the latest MS updates this week 6
times, but 3 will not install. It goes through a lengthy process then,
after shutting down, a window reports they didn't install, those being
Security updates for Word 2003, and Power Point, KB948988, 821598, and
954464.

I'm using XP Pro, IE6 ++, SR2, and all updates current I believe. Use
AVAST, AdAware, run One Care monthly, and HiJack This about every
quarter.

Any suggestions? Thank you.
