Your advice, based on a single system, it not worth shouting about.
You have not identified the specific problem your PC is having.
Until you do, do not advise the world to dump SP3.
I have installed it on 5 computers, without any problems.

Hi,
I have had nothing but problems with SP3. My programs wouldn't load, my
documents wouldn't load, and it totally, completely trashed NAV2008, as
well
as crashing my computer 15-20 times in the past 2 days. I uninstalled it,
then had to totally get rid of Norton as well. Microsoft should be ashamed
of
itself issuing this SP as an automatic update. From now on, I will not use
AutoUpdate, and only get security updates as I need them. My advice: use
add/remove programs and get rid of sp3 totally. The fact that MS issues a
bunch of warnings AFTER it's auto-updated on millions of computers is
irresponsible.

I run XP with SP2. No problems. SP3 came out and I waited on installing
that. I still haven't. Question:
1. Are any bugs out of it by now?
2. Would you give it a "must do" "can do" "doesn't matter", etc. in
re:
installing it.
3. Finally, any MS-MVP out there who may be reading this, have you
installed it on your own XP machine?
Thanks.
Chet
