Re: If anyone is having problems with Help & Support, MsInfo or Services, please read.

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

If WU is still trying to install IE7, then you didn't apply the Internet
Explorer 7 Blocker kit correctly.

Try it again and then check the registry to be sure it's been added.

Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Setup\7.0
Key value name: DoNotAllowIE70

Value should be: 1

Is IE7 being offered as an auto update by Microsoft???

Yes.

After I finished my initial reply to you, I remembered that IE 7 had
been re-installed last night by an auto update. So, I decided to
check and see if the problems returned. You guessed it---all three
problems are back. I can't get into any of the three!! Care to
re-think your opinion? :-)

You'll eventually find that it is NOT IE7 where the problem lies. It is
some
other garbage (virus program, malware program, spyware etc. etc.) that is
causing the problem . Thousands have installed IE7, as have I with no
problem whatsoever.

I have been unable to get into Help & Support, MsInfo or Services
for a couple of weeks now. I either would get absolutely nothing when
I attempted to open them, or I would get an IE script error with all
blanks in the window which could only be closed with the Task Manager.
I had tried every fix I could find by searching Google, and everything
suggested to me here, but none worked.

I next uninstalled IE v7 and that fixed ALL of the problems. Not
only can I run services, but I can now also get into Help & Support
and MsInfo32, which I couldn't do before. Evidently IEv7 is as big a
piece of #*%& as everyone says it is!

Hope this helps someone.
