Re: My Computer missing on Start Menu

I don't have any other suggestions. Maybe someone else has other ideas.

Yes, I have... and I've install Group Policy Editor and used it to set the Hide drives in My Computer to disabled. Nothing works!

And you have looked for and removed NoDrives values in the registry?

I have TweakUI, and I've used it to make sure the drives aren't hidden but it still does no good, the drives won't show in My Computer.

Do you have TweakUi on your machine? If yes, you may have changed settings with it. If you don't have TweakUi removing the NoDrives Reg_Dword in the registry should allow you to see the hidden drives, find the rest of the information in these search results:

Windows XP Home, I am the administrator and there is no group policy editor in Home.

I wonder if this is related to the other problem I have where no drives show in My Computer? I haven't been able to find anyone to solve that problem.

XP Pro or XP Home? Sounds like the machine has been locked down a bit with Group Policies.

Hello,

I did that and "Show My Computer" was already selected. I noticed several other things that were also selected which will not show there either.

Any ideas?

Right on the Start button and click on Properties then on the Customize... button. Then click on the Advanced tab and take a look at the Start menu items.

Hello,

When I click Start the only entries I see in the one area where My Computer should be is My Documents, Pictures, and My Music.

How do I restore My Computer to this menu?

Thanks for your time in advance.
