I am trying to copy some files to a CD, and the error message comes

I have spent hours trying to find directons on how to do this. When
I
play an audio CD, it will work. My only other thought is perhaps a
new
CD can be "old"? I'm really a novice on repairing the PC. Also, I
have
defragged, done 5 different scans, deleted cookies and files and that
didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions? Smiley Gilrl

Get ahold of a package like Nero or Roxio. The native Windows
support for CD/DVD burning is very limited. If you don't do that, you

could try compressing your files, but that could be a hassle for you.

If your drive will burn DVDs, you could put the data on a DVD; they
hold
about 7 times as much data as a DVD. The price of Nero and Roxio are
well worth it. You can buy a version that's one less than the current

one (e.g. Roxio 9 while Roxio 10 is out) on Amazon.com for around $20,

well worth the cost. I just bought Roxio 9 that way for $15 plus $3.75

shipping, and it works well with both XP and Vista.

Thanks for your replys! I have already tried using the DVD. It seems
like it is a problem with the hard ware. What do the Roxio or Nero
actually do? I have download and used the Uniblue Registry Booster.
The problems seemed to start when I download the IE7. I did go to the
site and download the fixes, but it didn't seem to make a difference in
how the PC was working. And, now I habe the copying problem.
