Granted, one does not need TweakUI to do just one registry hack, but this

development. Most users find it to be a worthwhile tool to have available.
Google is not required.

I'm with you entirely. TweakUI doesn't do anything you can't do
without it. It's essentially nothing but a special-purpose
user-friendly registry editor. But if you can do something with
TweakUI, rather than editing the registry directly, it's always a
easier, safer way to accomplish it.

You don't need TweakUI. Just use the right registry patch (google for it).

It had been so long since I reinstalled XP I have forgotten where I
can disable the "BALLOON TIPS" that greet me on the taskbar and
elsewhere at times.

I have looked everywhere but the right place.
If you have the Powertools TweakUI utility installed look under "Taskbar and
Start Menu". If you don't have it you may want to install it anyway.
