Don't forget to try running without "add ons" as per my other post, extract
below just in case.
To do this go from the start button to "all programs", "accessories",
"system
tools" in that menu there should be "Internet Explorer (No add ons)" open
internet explorer using this shortcut and try a link that previously failed
& let us know the result.
best of luck

Are you running SP2 or SP3 and what internet explorer version do you

or 7. It all helps to try and get an idea of what he problem may be.
When
did it stop working.? Could you do a system restore to a date prior to
the
problem.?
You could also check this setting to see if it helps. Go to internet
explorer properties and the advanced tab, then under browsing if
there's a
tick in "enable third party browser extension" click the box to remove
the
tick and click OK. Restart the browser and see if it changes the
problem, if
not go back and put the tick back in the box. (click the box) Also what
do
you use to read your emails.?

My computer stops responding when I click on links in emails or
internet
sites.
This is most annoying when trying to confirm something ie
registration
to this site.
Is there anyway I can stop this. I am a novice 60 year old so plain
english please!!
Hi Neil,
Yes I scan daily for spyware, adware and viruses. I have emptied
Temp.
Internet folders and removed pop up blockers but it still happens.
Thanks for your reply

Hi Neil
I have today upgraded to SP3 to see if that helps.
I tried a system restore but I got a message saying that the restore
had failed? It started playing up a couple of months ago and has been
driving me crazy.
I think it is IE6 and I use Outlook express to read emails.
I have unclicked the 3rd party browser extension so will see what
happens.
Will let you know if the problem has been solved.
Many Thanks
Barbara
