Re: no audio devices listed

I had the standard issues with downgrading to XP from Vista with

resolved the conflicts in my device manager. Everything seems to be
working just fine, except I have no sound and no audio devices
listed. Not under Sound or the Device manger. I don't know what to
do anymore. There are no further updates for me to get, so I am
thinking that somewhere I missed a driver that isn't important enough
to tell me it's missing. Can someone help?
Is it an on-board sound card (ie incorporated on the motherboard)? If so is
it activated in the BIOS of your machine?
