Re: Windows cannot connect to the domain on laptop

I have set up many laptops for use on our company domain and log
into each one of them at least once before they are issued out.
If they are not connected to the domain I can use the same
password for the user account as I did the first time I logged on,
even though it is changed frequently, but when connected to the
domain again it recognizes the current password, which I can then
use until I get back on the network with a new password.

Except for one laptop: I haven't logged into it for a while and
when I put in my current user name and password it does not
recognize my account on the domain with the message "Windows
cannot connect to the domain, either because domain the domain
controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your
computer account was not found. Please try again later. If this
message continues to appear, contact your network administrator
for assistance." But I can log in as the administrator and from
there map to the network as myself and see other hardware in the
domain. So the network card is OK, my user account is OK, but I
can't connect.

This isn't a problem about the User authenticating to the domain, it is
a problem with the Computer authenticating to the domain. Apparently
somehow the computer has dropped off of the domain....
