I'm a bad boy: I upgraded the bios and a bunch of mother-board-related
drivers and software recently without doing a back up (actually, I did
back
up the bios). I also tried to install some plugins for IE and Firefox
that
allows me to do mass uploads of pictures to one of the sites. All of a
sudden, I'm getting terminal blue screen dumps upon boot up. I'm fine in
safe mode but cannot boot up regularly. The message contained the
following
information:

WDF01000.SYS
driver_unloaded_without_cancelling_pending_operations
STOP: 0X000000CE (0XAD82AD1B, 0X00000000, 0XAD82AD1B, 0X00000000)

I have tried to uninstall most of the software that I can identify, but
the
problem still occurs. I have also applied the following:

I'm running XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Is there any way that I can upload the bootlog or something so that you
can
see what the problem is? Please be gentle with me; I'm kind of clueless
about this kind of thing.

Your best starting point is to remove the hard disk from the system and
attach it to another XP system that has more than enough drive space to
contain the contents of that drive, then back it up to that system. You
can just copy the data off or use something else, such as an imaging program
like Acronis TrueImage - this approach makes sure you get *all* your data.

This won't fix anything, but will give you a backup of your data so that you
can now proceed with fixing the real problem. If things deteriorate
further, you won't lose more than time.

And as to time, you might want to stop and consider how long it will take
you to just start over, versus the time to fix it. Much of the time, a
complete working XP-and-office install can be done over the course of an
evening, with much of the actual time spent having dinner and/or watching a
movie. If you take that route, also consider that new hard disks are not
expensive (where I am, half-terabyte disks are under $90), and if you get a
new disk you can just take the old one out and set it aside as your backup.
Reconnect it only after XP is reinstalled and ready to accept the data.
