Re: Sharing and Security Gone ???

Are they in different workgroups?

Right click each MY COMPUTER and choose PROPERTIES

Go to COMPUTER NAME tab

Each should have the same workgroup name

Yes, I meant the subject line.
Well, I tried "click TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > go to the VIEW tab
and scroll to the bottom and unclick SIMPLE FILE SHARING" and now I can see one computer (I have another one that I do not see ) but I still can't see 'Sharing and Security' in the Rt. click drop down menu. Also, when I open 'entire network>Microsoft Windows Network>Workgroup, it tells me that "Workgroup is not accessible, I might not have permission and that I should contact the administrator ' (And- I am the admin.!!).
So - I can see one computer and the two others (I have 3 on the network) see each other with no problems.
Now what ??
Thanx again,
Isaac

I believe he means in his subject line

Sir, which version of windows are you using? Sharing and Security in the context menu will not appear if you have simple file sharing enabled. Indeed, in Windows XP Home, it will not appear at all by default.

If XP Pro, in any window, click TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > go to the VIEW tab and scroll to the bottom and unclick SIMPLE FILE SHARING

Hi all,
As I said - there is no "sharing and security " when I right click on the My Comp icon and I can't communicate with my other 2
'puters (could until a few weeks ago).
