If you are at a work computer, regedit may be disabled by your administrator...pretty sure you get a message telling you that though

Do you see regedit.exe in C:\windows folder?
If you do Start -> run and type cmd <enter>
At the dos prompt type C:\windows\regedit.exe <enter>

Do you get any errors ?
