To OP. what is the model/number? You may be able to get even better
results.
My Model is HP Pavilion Notebook, Daave. I knew these adapters
shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

There's a more precise model number, that you need to know to determine the correct adapter. The real model number will be printed on a label on the bottom of the laptop.
The HP part number you've taken from the adapter is helpful in identifying appropriate replacements.
