Assuming the user name and password you just set cannot be entered into the log on dialog, this bootdisk download will allow blanking the password for the default 'Administrator' account

OK, I did this. Now the dialogue comes up with administrator in the username
box. It asks for a password. I don't know what it is. I tried administrator.
Didn't work. Now I can't even get into windows. Help.

I recommend you choose a password, but you don't have to. Go to start/run,
and type 'control userpasswords2' , Uncheck the password option, and follow
the wizard. This will log you on without asking for the password
