Make sure this service is up and running:
Open a run command and type in:
services.msc click [OK]
Locate this service:
Human Interface Device service (hidserv.exe)
Plug and Play Start Auto

Make sure in the device manger there is no conflict in the IRQ and you have
enough USB ports on your machine.
Run this command:
sfc /scannow click [OK] you will need your XP (CD+SP2) to perform this step.
