Try replugging it into another connection on the pc.If problems continue,try
booting to xp cd,recovery,in recovery type:DiskPart Locate the hd,if not
formatted,create a partition,press ESC key after,type:FORMAT D: /FS:NTFS
D: being the new hd,once thru,type:CHKDSK C: /p Type:EXIT Let xp start,
remove cd.

... I am not sure what happened when I was going thru System Recovery ... I am trying to fix a brother in laws computer after he crashed it ... The windows recovery said windows reinstall has completed and I ... install windows from it I got it to start downloading the system ...
