Hi Paul,
Use SpyBot Search and Destroy Version 1.52 and McAfee Anti-Virus. I did
and worked fine.

I am trying to install Lavasofts ad-aware 2007 2007 in an attempt to
eradicate VirusHeat. But when I try to install I get this message: "The
system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation"
I did some research and found it may be windows installer issue.
I tired this, no help:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886630/
1. Quit all Windows programs.
2. Run, type msiexec /unregister in the Open box, and then click OK.
3. Run, type msiexec /regserver in the Open box, and then click OK.
4. Restart your computer.
I tried this:

Reinstall Windows Installer
To reinstall Windows Installer, follow these steps:
1. Start your computer in Safe Mode. To do this, follow these steps:
3. At the command prompt, type attrib -r -s -h %Windir%\System32\dllcache.
4. At the command prompt, type CD %Windir%\System32, and then press ENTER.
5. At the command prompt, type the following lines, pressing ENTER after
each line:
ren msi.dll msi.old
ren msiexec.exe msiexec.old
ren msihnd.dll msihnd.old
6. At the command prompt, type exit, and then press ENTER.
7. Restart your computer in Safe Mode.
8. Update the Windows Installer files on the hard disk to the latest
version.
I then reinstalled windows installed v 3.1. I got the installer from here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=893803
After I run the WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe and reboot, these 3
files are not there:
msi.dll msiexec.exe msihnd.dll
Shouldn't WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe install those files?
If not, how do get new versions of them?
I am running on XP HOME sp2 and in safe mode
Thanks
.
