hi,
while setting a new SID (ttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/
sysinternals/bb897418.aspx) to gain access to encrypted files from my
other, crashed, system (which, in fact, by mistake turned out to be
the same SID I had), xp seems to have created a duplicate
'administrator' account: on the user selection screen i just see one,
but in the documents and settings folder, i see the old username
('administrator') and the new one ('administrator.computername').
when i boot into it, i get a new user desktop, without my customised
setttings, etc.
how can i revert to my old username? i'm not that interested in
keeping all of my files, etc, since I know i can copy them from my
documents - what i really want to do is actually get back into the
'administrator' user account, and not the 'administrator.computername'
one.
any hints would be greatly appreciated...
