In Display Properties> Desktop> Background once that image is selected, in
the Position field, you should be able to choose Center. Is that choice not
there?

I have an image on my desktop background which I want centered. Since
the image is not the same size as the background I expect is to have
empty space. Instead the image is zoomed in. I have found no option to
decide this behaviour.

I have a Dell Latitude D620 with XP pro sp2.
