As per Bill Davis suggestion, I transfered my Q here
On my pc I have 1 hard disk with 5 logical disk c-g
On c: win98se, e:xp pro g: another xp pro
All worked ok till there were some problems with the 98 and I reinstalled
it
After installing the 98 I coudnt boot into the Xp's
After some work I can boot into the xp's but I cant boot into the 98
Is there away to fix it?
Installing (or reinstalling) Windows 98 does not allow you to set up a dual
boot installation with XP - you have to do it the other way around. I
haven't tried personally, but I presume that if you now did a repair install
of XP it would allow you to set it up the dual boot.
Alternatively, there are other ways of achieving the same result. Most
modern BIOSs allow to select which of two bootable hard disks is the primary
boot device, thus giving dual boot.
There are also third party boot managers that will achieve a similar result
and will even support as many bootable systems as you are prepared to
provide hard disk real estate for. Boot Magic which is provided with
partition Magic is a very capable tool, but by no means the only example.
Boot Magic works by hiding the other OS partitions so is not suitable if you
wish to transfer data between systems (unless you provide a dedicated
transfer partition).
