it seems that i cannot do any updates with norton. after speaking to
signthey are saying it's a problem with microsoft. any suggestions. this is
causing me to get logged off of some sites automatically when i try to
in. i also cannot do any virus updates with norton.
"It's Microsoft's fault" is a universal cop-out used by many software -
and OEM computer - companies that usually translates: "Beats us what
the problem is".
Your best bet - at least worth considering - is to remove Norton and
download one of the good free AV programs: Avast!, Kaspersky, AVG;
there are several more. Remove Norton first by going to their website
and downloading their "Removal cleanup tool". Also get the new AV
program online that you'll install. Then go offline and begin removing
Norton by using it's built-in removal program, THEN, run it's "Cleanup"
program you downloaded, THEN install the new AV software you chose.
This is all *if* you decide to delete the Norton - but when they say "We
can't help you", and you cannot download updates - sheesh, whaddya going
to do?
Good luck with it,
Tony
I could not agree more!
Norton (and McAffee) are about as bad as it gets.
Though I use AVG (free) and like it...another good one (free) is Avast
.
